Merry Christmas everyone!
Christmas and New Year are the most lovely times of the year, but also the most stressful. You have to buy presents for everyone, buy some new clothes for yourself, go to lots of family parties and who knows what else. Eating healthy isn't really an option for everyone, including me. There's so much delicious, and not so healthy food at family parties. But if there's one thing you shouldn't do is feel guilty for eating it. Enjoy the holidays with your family, there's plenty enough time to lose that extra weight when these hectic days are over.
Detoxing has really become a thing in 2015. But most people do it for the wrong reasons. Everywhere i go on social media i see people sell detox drinks to lose weight in a fast way. Here are some things you should know about 'detox drinks' if you wanna start to detox your body yourself.
- It doesn't promise permanent weightloss. During the days you detox you definitely lose some weight but once you start eating again you'll gain your weight back, maybe even more than before. This is called 'the jojo effect'.
- Detox is used by models and celebrities who want to lose some weight right before a runway show or red carpet.
I'm not saying you shouldn't detox. I even detox myself, especially during these days but you have to do it for the right reasons. I detox to clean my body from all the unhealthy 'bad' food. I only detox one day. For example after all these Christmas meals it's great to clean your body. I don't lose weight detoxing but my body definitely feels so much better after. So to cut a long story short. Detoxing is great if you do it for the right reasons, maybe one day a week or after unhealthy days to clean your body!
I'm going to put the recipe of my detox drink underneath, even though the ingedriënts might sound gross i think it doesn't taste bad at all. I hope everyone is enjoying their days off and time with their family. Let me know if you tried my recipe! Keep it healthy!
